The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan has said the cricketing body will not force its country’s players to make the trip to Pakistan for the upcoming series between the two sides scheduled to be held in January-February.
Bangladesh is expected to take on Pakistan in a series spanning three T20Is and two Test matches but the board is currently awaiting security clearance from the government over whether they should go ahead with the tour of not. However, Nazmul has stated that even if they receive the green signal from the government, the board is not in a position to enforce the decision on players unwilling to travel to Pakistan.
"We cannot force our players to go to Pakistan. If any player doesn't want to go, he will not go there. We will not pressurize anyone. The board will not pressurize any player to go to Pakistan. I don't think it's time to talk about the replacement team. It will depend on the situation,” he said.
