Aizaz Cheema, the paceman of Pakistan, is one of the strongest performers of the domestic circuit. Despite being a consistent and sturdy player, the veteran wasn’t able to represent Pakistan in many International games. However, his Asia Cup 2012 heroics are still known to all where he defended 9 runs to seal victory against Bangladesh.
Recently, the 40-year old found himself in news, but not for cricketing reasons. Aizaz recently participated in an anti-polio campaign in Sargodha as he talked about his firm stance against this disease. Inaugurating the polio center, he said that this is an ideal opportunity for all the parents to protect their children against polio by getting them vaccinated as they are the future of the country.
It was heartening to see the Lahore born participating in such an activity as these cricketers serve as heroes for many in Pakistan. Moreover, Aizaz himself was found in great mood on the occasion as he feels honored to be a part of such an initiative.
