Pakistan’s spin wizard Yasir Shah has not had much success in recent times given his abysmal performance during the two-Test series in Australia. Nevertheless, the senior leggie aims to improve his form against Sri Lanka in the second Test of the series in Karachi’s National Stadium.
Boasting an exceptional record of 207 wickets in 37 Tests, Yasir claimed he it was “unfortunate” not to have any experience of red-ball cricket with arch-rivals India. Bilateral cricketing relations between India and Pakistan have come to a standstill since the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, which means the two teams have not played a Test for over a decade.
Ruing the fragile diplomatic relations causing this ruptured relationship amongst the two cricket boards, Yasir hoped to one day fulfill his dream of clashing against the quality Indian side.
"It's unfortunate and I'm disappointed when I think I've not played a Test against India. I'd like to play against them because they've some top players and for a leg-spinner, it's always enjoyable when you are bowling to or getting wickets of high-profile players,” he said.
