Pakistan women's cricket team all-rounder Nida Dar has been named by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as part of its T20I team of the year 2019. The announcement was made by the ICC granting Nida the distinction of being the only Pakistani cricketer to feature in either the ODI or T20I teams of the calendar year 2019.
Nida is known for her explosive power-hitting abilities and crafty off-spin, which makes her a formidable all-rounder. She played nine T20Is this year and managed to score 272 runs at an average of 34 while claiming eight wickets at an average of 29.12. Her consistent performances also helped her become the first Pakistani to bag a contract at the Women’s Big Bash League.
“It’s always good for a player to get recognition like this. I hope that this achievement also motivates other players to do well. I also want to thank my teammates, coaches, captains and PCB for supporting me throughout my career,” she said, reacting to the special feat.
