Mickey Arthur is currently coaching Sri Lanka in Pakistan where his team is engaged in a two-Test series with the hosts. The presence of Arthur in the Sri Lankan dressing room is quite interesting given the 51-year-old South African’s long association with Pakistan.
Arthur took over as the head coach of Pakistan in 2016 and was ultimately deposed from his position following an assessment conducted by the Cricket Committee featuring Misbah-ul-Haq post-2019 World Cup. The former Pakistan skipper was then appointed chief selector and coach of the national side.
While shedding light on any potential conflict with Misbah, Arthur dismissed such rumours. "It was all good. Sub theek hai (Everything is fine),” he said.
"I was so happy that I could be at the ground to witness Pakistan's first home Test match in 10 years. That was very special to me because Pakistan holds a very special place in my heart,” he added.
