Haris Rauf, the paceman of Pakistan, is one of the most exciting cricketing stories of the country. Getting discovered from the highly admired Player Development Program (PDP) of Lahore Qalandars, the exuberant paceman has refused to look back by recording a number of sturdy bowling outings.
It was particularly the 2019 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where Haris showed his true colors by becoming the joint-highest wicket-taker for Lahore along with the Nepalese spin wizard Sandeep Lamichhane. Dismissing 11 batters, Haris averaged a shade under 25 while managing a bowling economy of 7.41.
All this attracted the cricketing world as a top Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Stars have hired him for the running edition of the 20-over tournament. This comes in response to the unavailability of South African paceman Dale Steyn whose side strain will keep him out of the Friday’s fixture against Brisbane Heat.
With this event, Haris Rauf has a great chance to make his BBL debut to bolster the bowling attack of Stars. Moreover, sharing the dressing room with a bowler of Steyn’s caliber could help him to hone his skills to a great extent.
