Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne has firmly expressed his confidence in the security conditions present in Pakistan and claimed to feel really safe in the country. Pakistan is currently hosting Sri Lanka for its first taste of Test cricket since the horrific 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus.
Having been deprived of Test cricket for over a decade, Pakistan fans are finally relishing a chance to watch their team don the white jersey and battle it out in the grueling five-day format against a quality opponent. Shedding light on the hospitality and the security arrangements, Karunaratne believed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) along with the security forces was doing a tremendous job.
"The guys who are giving us security, they are giving us not just 100% but more than 100%. That's why we feel really good. We went out for dinner as well. I can say that Pakistan is now safe for cricket,” Karunaratne told reporters in Karachi.
"I can't appeal to Bangladesh about whether they should come, but what I can say is that for me it feels really safe," he added.
