Exciting pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi is all set to make his county debut next year after signing with Hampshire for the Vitality blast competition. Shaheen joins the Hampshire County Cricket Club as their overseas recruit for next season.
The 19-year-old has swiftly risen in stature after making his international debut last year following stupendous performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Under-19 World Cup. He also finished as Pakistan’s second-leading wicket-taker in the ICC World Cup earlier this summer, managing to register the best bowling figures by a Pakistani in the marquee tournament’s history.
Reacting to his signing, Shaheen said: “I am delighted to sign with Hampshire for the upcoming Vitality Blast competition. I have always enjoyed playing in England in front of the fantastic fans and I look forward to joining this historic club for my first experience of county cricket.”
