Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has lashed out at the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) hesitancy to send its team for a Test series in Pakistan. Bangladesh has refused to travel to the country for the Test leg of the tour, though they are willing to play the short-form games part of the itinerary.
Misbah pointed to the successful Test series at home involving Sri Lanka and said there shouldn’t be any excuses for Bangladesh to forgo plans of touring Pakistan. Given the foolproof security arrangements in place by the relevant authorities in Pakistan and the cricket board’s strict stance of hosting Tests in the country, it remains to be seen what will be Bangladesh’s next step.
“It will be huge disappointment if Bangladesh doesn’t come to Pakistan to play Test cricket. There is no excuse not to visit Pakistan now, security is just a lame excuse, teams are now coming, even you’re agreeing to play T20Is then why are you reluctant to play Test cricket? It will be great injustice to Pakistan,” Misbah said.
