India’s pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is back in the side after being forced to miss cricket action for almost four months. The number one ranked ODI bowler had to undergo surgery as part of his rehabilitation for a lower back stress fracture and has managed to regain full fitness.
Bumrah has thus been named in the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka and Australia. India will first host Sri Lanka for three T20Is starting January 5 before a three-match ODI series versus Australia expected to commence on January 14.
The unorthodox fast bowler is known for his pinpoint yorkers and steep speeds and his return to the national side will certainly boost their quality. He missed India’s home series against South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies across formats during his time away from the game.
