Sri Lanka’s skipper Dimuth Karunaratne criticized the senior players for not taking the responsibility in the 2nd Test match against Pakistan in Karachi. He feels that Sri Lanka gave away the match easily after the bowlers failed to deliver in the 2nd Innings.
"In other series seniors did well, but here, we seniors need to take the blame," Karunaratne said. "As a captain I need to take the blame as well - I couldn't do anything major in this series either. Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, and Kusal Mendis weren't able to do much. They are all experienced players”, he added.
Sri Lanka faced a defeat by 263 runs in the 2nd Test match at Karachi. After restricting Pakistan for just 191 runs in the 1st innings, the visitors lost the grip of the match. Sri Lanka succumbed to Pakistan’s dominant performance with the bat in the 2nd innings as the top 4 batsmen scored centuries. The batting performance was below par too as the Lankan lions only managed to score 212 runs in the 2nd innings.
