Former Pakistan bowling coach has been added to Multan Sultans’ coaching staff for next year’s edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Azhar made the announcement on Twitter as he expressed his eagerness to work with the PSL franchise.
Multan Sultans were introduced into the PSL in the third season and have failed to make an impact, having ended second-last on the points table two years in a row. They will be hoping Azhar’s coaching experience will hone the skills of veteran seamers Mohammad Irfan, Sohail Tanvir and Junaid Khan.
Azhar was previously contracted with Pakistan’s national side, working in tandem with head coach Mickey Arthur until the conclusion of the ICC World Cup earlier this year. He is often credited with tutoring Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi when they first burst onto the international arena.
