Mitchell Swepson, the leg-spinner of Australia, is one of the most talented spinners of the country. The retirements of cricketers like Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill saw a dearth of leg-spinners in the country. However, the prowess of Swepson blew a fresh air in this regard.
After being called to the team for the final Test against New Zealand, Swepson has witnessed growing calls in favor of his selection. With Australia having already clinched the series, cricket pundits believe that it is the right time to test the skill set of the leggie.
Recently, Australian coach Justin Langer came forward to reflect on this matter. He admitted that he was impressed with how Swepson bowled in the nets, but added that it would be hard to disturb a winning combination.
This way, Langer gave a hint of going in Sydney with an unchanged team. However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of Swepson getting handed his debut Test cap. It remains to be seen how things fare for the 26-year old cricketer.
