Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
After the heart-breaking exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a break from the International cricket to serve in Indian Army. Meanwhile, India also decided to look forward by selecting and giving a consistent chance to exciting cricketer Rishabh Pant.
While Pant recorded few impressive outings, but every failure of him led towards growing calls of having Dhoni back in the team. Recently, former Indian captain Anil Kumble became a part of this debate as he said that the forthcoming edition of the highly admired Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be pivotal in determining the selection of Dhoni for the next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
The 49-year old added that the quality of IPL would be a good test of the form Dhoni is in. So, it’d be interesting to see how Dhoni fares in the 20-over competition. Moreover, Kumble advised the Indian management to finalize the team for the mega-event before 10-12 games as this will help the unit gel well.
