The 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup is expected to commence on January 17 as 16 teams will battle it out for the ultimate prize. Pakistan have packed their squad with a plethora of young stars in the making as U19 coach Ijaz Ahmed spoke on the immense potential the side possesses.
Ijaz has talked up young pace bowler Amir Khan, who has already bagged a contract with Peshawar Zalmi for the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the emerging category. The teenage speedster harbours the ability to rack up steep pace and has been touted as one of the players to look out for in the upcoming tournament.
“One of the players going with us to the Under-19 World Cup is Amir Khan. He's bowling at an average speed of 141 kph and has bowled a couple of balls at 147 kph,” Ijaz said.
