Indian Premier League based franchise Rajasthan Royals have turned their focus towards their former team member Ish Sodhi but this time around not as a player but as a spin consultant and operations executive. The New Zealand’s leg-spinner will serve Rajasthan in the upcoming IPL season at these two posts.
According to the Royals, Sodhi's rapport with their young spinners - Shreyas Gopal, Riyan Parag - played a hand in him being signed in a dual capacity. This season, he'll also get to work with 20-year old leg-spinner Mayank Markande, who has been traded in after two years with Mumbai Indians.

Sodhi is currently not on New Zealand’s Test plans, however; they still have him in their limited-overs' vision statement. The 27-year old also has an immense T20 experience behind his back. In 143 games he played, the right-arm leg-spinner picked up 161 wickets.
