While Pakistan ended the year 2019 as the top-ranked T20I team in the world, all isn’t well with their unit for this format of the game. After getting thumped against Islanders at home, the green team was decimated in Australia. With this, the last 6 T20 games of the boys in green saw them losing 5 of them.
Recently, all of it was reviewed by the former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq who currently serves as the head coach as well as the chief selector of the national team. He didn’t shy away from admitting that Pakistan’s T20 team needs some quick fixes ahead of the all-important T20 World Cup in Australia.
The 45-year old said that his team realizes the shortcomings and they are working hard constantly to overcome these issues. This way, he wants the Pakistani team to be in best shape for the forthcoming mega-event. Moreover, Misbah has hinted towards picking a young pool of players while not looking back towards senior cricketers like Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik.
