Test cricket, the purest format of the game, recently went through many changes. There is also an idea floating around the cricketing world as cricket pundits want to see the four-day Test cricket. It is now becoming a growing debate which recently managed to catch the attention of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
The run machine of India politely turned down the idea of playing Tests consuming only 4 days. In an interaction session with media, Kohli said that he isn’t a fan of tinkering with the existing format of Test cricket. He feels that day-night Test cricket is fine since it allows many people to watch the game in night, thus swelling the attendance.
Indian Captain Virat Kohli is addressing to media.
He thinks that the idea of surging entertainment by reducing the number of days of the game isn’t right because it could lead to the call of three days and then perhaps making test cricket just an extended long version of ODI cricket. Therefore, he cleared his stance of not supporting this act. It remains to be seen how International Cricket Council (ICC) responds to this idea.
