Rain-affected games are the worst part of cricket especially when the stadiums are houseful. Similar incident took place during the 1st T20I game between India and Sri Lanka at Guwahati as the match was abandoned due to rain and later wet-outfield.
The toss was the only thing that had the result amidst the chilly night in Guwahati. The Indian and the other Sri Lankan players waited in anticipation as the ground staff took every possible measure to make the ground dry for play to begin. The pitch curators used “hair-dryers” and vacuum cleaners to dry the moisture on the wicket.
The interesting incident caught the eyes of the cricket fans as it became an enjoyable moment for them during the rain-affected game. This is the not the first time that un-orthodox method was used to dry out the moisture. During a Pakistan Super League game in Lahore, a helicopter was used to suck out the moisture from the pitch.
