The history of sports is filled with a number of iconic rivalries, but very few comes close to India and Pakistan with the Ashes series being the second best in terms of rivalries.
However, the downgraded relations of India and Pakistan halted cricket being played between both the countries. While both countries face each other in ICC or ACC events, but they last played a bilateral series 7 years ago. For this reason, Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Javed Miandad has recently joined the debate by batting for Indo-Pak cricket. The 62-year old feels that cricket would serve as a bridge to ameliorate the relations between the two countries.
“A full-fledged bilateral series between India and Pakistan is really needed to improve the relations of these countries. It will provide a lot of financial benefit as well. Moreover, the cricketing world really wants to see the two Asian giants playing regularly against each other,” said by Javed Miandad.
