After a number of failures, Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma has finally cracked the code of Test cricket. He wasn’t a permanent feature of the Test team and averaged under 40 before 2019. However, the record-breaking Test series against South Africa saw Rohit mustering a total of 529 runs at 132.25, including two tons and a double century.
Recently, the explosive batsman talked about how he was able to turn the tables. Rohit said that too much focus on technique dented his game. The 32-year old added that all his failures led him to meet the video analysts and get his brain confused. However, before the tour of Australia, he made his mind to express himself while trying to enjoy the game and it did wonders for him.
“Thinking too much about technique wasn’t allowing me to enjoy the game. I also thought too much about my dismissals. You can’t allow negative thoughts to creep in when you are playing such a high-profile sport. But, I know that I need to put a high price tag on my wicket,” said by the veteran of 32 Tests, 221 ODIs and 104 T20Is.
