The second Test match between South Africa and England in Cape Town saw a lot of drama as the hosts battled hard to secure a draw. Nevertheless, England’s Ben Stokes and James Anderson joined hands to help their team level the four-match Test series 1-1.
However, England has been hit by a shock as the veteran Test fast bowler James Anderson has been ruled out of the final two games of the series. During the Cape Town Test, Anderson had to go out of the field with a side strain, but the pain killers allowed him to resume his duty and he claimed an early morning wicket of Keshav Maharaj.
The official confirmation cleared that English team will miss the services of Anderson in games scheduled to take place in Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg. The scan revealed that the issue was related to bone and it wasn’t just a soft-tissue injury. Furthermore, it is important to note that Anderson played a pivotal role in the 2nd red-ball game of the series as he claimed 7 wickets.
