Shadab Khan starred with a fine all-round performance for Dhaka Platoon in their emphatic 61-run triumph over Rangpur Rangers in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The young leg-spinner has recently been criticized for his lackluster showings in international cricket but his brilliance in the clash against Rangpur signals a return to form.
Coming into bat with his team in dire straits on a tough pitch, Shadab knitted together a very delightful display of stroke play. Shadab’s impressive 19-ball stay at the crease saw him rack up 31 runs with the help of three sixes and a solitary four. He thus lifted his team’s total from a paltry 90/6 to 145/9 in 20 overs.
While defending the modest target, Shadab then turned the heat with his exquisite variations. He snapped up two important wickets in his three-over and gave away just 14 runs. Rangpur were shot out for 84 in their pursuit of the 146-run target.
