The indomitable Chris Gayle is back in the midst of cricket action after taking a break from the sport towards the end of 2019. Having arrived in Dhaka to join his team Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Gayle is back to entertain crowds with his explosive power-hitting abilities.
With constant speculation over his imminent retirement, Gayle has stressed he is willing to continue his playing career unperturbed.
"A lot of people still want see Chris Gayle out there in the middle. I still have that love for the game and that passion for the game as well. And I would love to carry on as long as possible,” Gayle said in a media interaction.
Talking about a possible date of retirement, Gayle said he will play five years more and bow out of competitive cricket when he is 45.
"Forty-five is a good number. Yeah, we can target 45. Let's target 45, that's a good number,” - he stated with a chuckle.
