International Cricket Council (ICC) anti-corruption unit is currently working on almost 40-50 cases of fixers being approaching the players during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. According to the chairman of anti-corruption unit Alex Marshall, the world cup 2019 is found to be clean up till this point.
He said that the players were informed before-hand about the individuals who were under scrutiny and it helped ICC in identifying the suspects during the ICC Cricket world cup 2019.
Remember, Marshall and his team recently inflicted a ban on Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan and former Sri Lankan player Sanath Jayasuriya and he said that the numbers are expected to rise in the ongoing year. ICC is currently working on the cases, however; there has been no clear evidence of fixing at this stage.
