Australia has never been a stranger to the wildfires, but the recent outbreak of bushfire seems to be unprecedented in nature. As a result, the catastrophic event, fueled by a combination of extreme heat, prolonged drought and strong winds, witnessed 1200 homes getting destroyed including 13.5 million acres of land.
For this reason, Australian cricketers came forward with commendable gestures of donating money for the bushfire. Former Aussie spinner Shane Warne was one of the cricketers who put his baggy green cap on auction. Doing so, he was able to raise more than $1 million to aid the victims of the devastating bushfires of Australia.
Sharing this news on his official Twitter handle, the cricketer turned commentator extended his gratitude to everyone who participated in the process to place high bids. Warne added that the buyer of the cap has astonished him with his generosity and the collected amount will help the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal to ameliorate the pace of their efforts. Moreover, the whole cricket community is praying for this tragic incident to end.
