The ongoing edition of the highly celebrated Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has produced a plethora of special performances to swell the charm of the tournament. Recently, this list got enlarged as the wicket-keeper batsman of Khulna Tigers Mushfiqur Rahim registered an iconic batting show against Cumilla Warriors.
In the 40th game of BPL 2019-20, Warriors won the toss and decided to bowl first. Khulna, in an attempt to score big, lost two wickets quickly including the price wicket of Rilee Rossouw. This created a situation for Mushfiqur to produce a strong batting performance and he responded brilliantly.
Consuming only 57 balls, the 32-year old batsman mustered 98 runs while staying unbeaten. He struck 12 fours and 3 sixes to rescue Khulna. Mushfiqur was complemented by Najmul Hossain’s half-century as the duo joined hands to help Khulna record 218 runs. In response, Cumilla crumbled under pressure to lose the game by 92 runs. For a special batting outing, Mushfiqur Rahim won the player of the match award.
