Glenn Maxwell once again took center stage in the Big Bash League (BBL) with an electrifying performance against Melbourne Renegades in the derby clash. Leading Melbourne Stars with a terrific captain’s knock, Maxwell unleashed a blistering batting charge that helped his team cross the line.
The ace all-rounder came into bat with his team in perilous position at 54/3 by the end of seven overs in pursuit of the 169-run target. He then settled in gradually wrested back the momentum from the Renegades with classy strokes.
Maxwell’s extravagant innings was not all a mesh of powerful slogs but incorporated a substantial proportion of nifty shots to fetch him doubles (10 in total) and rotated the strike brilliantly. He launched seven maximums, the last of which earned the Stars an emphatic win by seven wickets. Maxwell finished with a breathtaking contribution of 83 from 45 deliveries.
