Former Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has claimed he would be willing to tour Pakistan provided his family is fine with it. Mashrafe, who last represented Bangladesh in the World Cup, is currently engaged in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Although he has retired from Test and T20I cricket, the veteran all-rounder is still available for selection in the 50-over format. When asked whether he would be keen on travelling to Pakistan if given the choice, Mashrafe said he would not be hesitant to play matches in the country.
“To be honest if you ask me, I would have gone to Pakistan but obviously I would have consulted with my family. But if you only ask me about going to Pakistan or not, I would say yes, I would go,” he was quoted as saying by a Bangladeshi newspaper.
Mashrafe’s comments come at a time when the fate of Bangladesh’s impending tour of Pakistan is clouded in uncertainty. Their cricket board has stated they are reluctant to tour Pakistan for the Test matches but are accepting the proposition to play T20Is.
