Australia are all set to take on India for a three-match ODI series starting January 14. With India eager to avenge last year’s loss to Australia at home, the series is expected to be an intriguing battle between the two quality oppositions.
Amidst this backdrop, attention will also be centered on Marnus Labuschagne, who will make his white-ball debut in the upcoming series. Labuschagne has already made a mark in Test cricket with a plethora of dominant performances and skipper Aaron Finch feels the right-hander will have a seamless transition to limited-overs cricket.
Talking about the electrifying contest between Labuschagne and India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah that awaits fans, Finch said it will surely be exciting. "Yes, that [contest] is going to be exciting," he admitted.
"He is a fantastic bowler and someone, who, when you are not playing against him, you love watching bowl. He is fast and aggressive and his execution is pretty spot on. The more the guys face him, the more exposure you get, the more you start to understand how he bowls. So it is important that we don’t overplay that too much,” Finch added in praise of Bumrah.
