For his exploits in the 2018-19 season of the International cricket, the 26-year old has been rewarded. During the BCCI Annual Awards in Mumbai, the top-ranked ODI bowler was honored with the Polly Umrigar Award.
Bumrah has managed to break the four-year streak of Indian skipper Virat Kohli who bagged this prestigious honor for the last four years. It is important to note that the fearsome paceman recently became the only Asian bowler to pick a five-wicket haul in South Africa, England and Australia in Tests. He also played a pivotal role in India’s red-ball triumphs in Australia and West Indies.
