Kamran Akmal, the wicket-keeper batsman of Pakistan, is one of those cricketers who never really blossomed at the International level. A swelled run of inconsistency combined with a plethora of dropped chances saw him getting thrown out of the national reckoning. However, after being pushed out of this framework, Kamran started recording sturdy shows in the domestic circuit.
But, the selection committee isn’t willing to give him another go as they want to rely on the prowess of the budding wicket-keepers. This led Kamran Akmal to share his frustration in an exclusive interview with Cricingif. He said that it is unfair to see the absence of the domestic performers when it comes to the selection of the national team.
“It all depends on the vision of selectors. If you see teams like Australia, India and England, they value domestic cricket and we see more than 1 wicket-keeper featuring in their playing XI. Therefore, it is important to reward the performances of the domestic circuit,” said by 37-year old while sharing his exasperation.
