Pakistan’s senior all-rounder Shoaib Malik is rated amongst the finest limited-overs cricketer to emerge from the country. His outstanding all-round skills has benefitted Pakistan for over two decades but lately, the 37-year-old has been unable to secure a spot in the national side.
Malik last featured in an international match during the World Cup against India, where he perished for a golden duck. Despite having retired from ODI cricket, Malik has made himself available for selection in the T20I side but was not selected for Pakistan’s 20-over assignments against Sri Lanka and Australia.
Reflecting on his prolonged absence from the Pakistan team, Malik expressed his desire to come back to the international circuit. He posted on Facebook that he missed the feeling of batting in the middle of a high-profile clash with Pakistan fans in unison chanting his name.
