Former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja has lambasted Bangladesh for not accepting Pakistan’s request to tour the country for two Tests. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently stated they would be willing to tour Pakistan for a short period for only the T20I series but will not stay for the Test matches owing to the US-Iran tension.
This reasoning, in particular, has attracted the attention of Ramiz as he feels the current problems in the Middle East can barely affect the security conditions in Pakistan.
“I don’t understand how Bangladesh can refuse to play Test match in Karachi and Rawalpindi due to tensions in the Middle East. If that’s the case then situation in all of Asia isn’t great, so cricket shouldn’t happen in Asia at all,” Ramiz complained.
Moreover, Ramiz referred to various terrorist incidents taking place in other nations stating that by this logic, these countries would also be unsafe to tour.
“Similarly, there is knife rage on streets in England and bushfires in Australia, so this logic of Bangladesh baffles me,” he added.
