England’s misery-ridden tour of South Africa in terms of injury and illness concerns continues to prevail as England’s Test captain Joe Root becomes the latest victim of England’s rotten luck. The right-handed batsman missed the training session on Sunday ahead of England’s 3rd Test match against South Africa.
Before him, Chris Woakes and Jack Leech were also sidelined from the playing XI courtesy illness. Adding salt to the wounds, James Anderson and Rory Burns have already been ruled out of the series due to injury concerns and Jofra Archer is still not 100% fit to go.
Root holds an important position in England’s batting ranks and the management is hopeful that his illness, reportedly stomach issues, won’t prolong and the England captain will be good to go as the visitors take on South Africa at Port Elizabeth on 16th January 2020.
