After stepping out of the International retirement last month, West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been recalled to the T20I team for the three-game series against Ireland. He last featured for West Indies in 2016, so this comes as an exciting news for all the fans of Bravo.
The selection committee, sharing its views on this call-up, said that the idea of having the 36-year old back in the national team comes from the death bowling concerns. Therefore, Bravo has been included to bolster the death bowling of the maroon jersey.
Not only that, he is an extremely capable batsman evident from him scoring over 1100 T20 runs at 24.29. Moreover, Rovman Powell has also been called back into the team. First contest between the two teams will be played in Grenada on January 15, while next two games are scheduled on January 18 and 19 in St Kitts respectively. The squad consists of following names:
Kieron Pollard (c), Dwayne Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer, Sheldon Cottrell, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Nicholas Pooran, Khary Pierre, Rovman Powell, Lendl Simmons, Sherfane Rutherford, Hayden Walsh Jr and Kesrick Williams
