James Pattinson, the Australian pace sensation, is one of the most skillful fast-bowlers of the cricketing world. Unlike his red-ball and 50-over cricket record, the T20 credentials of Pattinson leaves a lot to be desired. However, he seems on a mission to ameliorate them and the contest against Adelaide saw the best of him.
With a spectacular bowling show, Pattison came across as a really hard opponent for Adelaide as he unleashed his bag of tricks to bamboozle their batting department. The decision of Adelaide to bat first against Brisbane in the ongoing edition of the highly admired Big Bash League (BBL) proved to a horrible move as the 29-year old cricketer ran riot to record his maiden five-wicket hail in T20 cricket, ending up with figures of 5/33 in his 4 overs.
With an iconic bowling performance, Pattinson allowed Brisbane to restrict Adelaide to a paltry total of 110 runs. In response, Brisbane lost two quick wickets, but calm heads of Matt Renshaw and AB de Villiers allowed the unit to overcome the nerves and record a convincing victory. For a match changing bowling spell, Pattinson was rewarded the player of the match award.
