Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan has stated the decision to include a one-off ODI in the tour itinerary for the series in Pakistan was taken in order to compensate the financial loss faced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
After weeks of a deadlock between the cricket boards, Bangladesh finally accepted to tour Pakistan in three phases to play three T20Is, two Test matches and a one-off ODI. BCB has unveiled the fact that PCB had requested them to play an additional T20I before the second Test in April but Bangladesh felt an ODI would help them acclimatize to the conditions in a better manner.
"Pakistan is facing a huge financial loss and they offered us to play one T20 as that will give them some revenue. Their cost has increased a lot as we are going three times and in this little time they cannot do marketing. We needed practice match and we felt that if we played ODI than we can practice more”- Nazmul.
