Fakhar sanguine about Lahore’s chances in PSL 5

Lahore Qalandars, despite providing a plethora of entertainment, failed to produce strong results in the all the four seasons of the highly celebrated Pakistan Super League (PSL). In the last tournament, they started off well, but injuries to their key players broke the back of the franchise and they ended up finishing on the last spot of the points table.

However, a new year presents them a fresh opportunity to make amends and win the hearts of fans. Considering this chance, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman is aiming to make the most of this opportunity and help Lahore win the forthcoming T20 carnival of Pakistan. Being the highest run-getter for Lahore, scoring 739 runs in 28 games at 26.39, there comes an additional responsibility on his shoulders.

Sharing his views in a video, the 29-year old batsman said that he is confident to see Lahore doing well in PSL 2020. He admitted the failures of Qalandars in past four seasons, but believes that his franchise has enough talent to turn the table this time around. Moreover, he relished the fact that Lahore would play 8 home games as the crowd’s support can install a different level of energy in the side. It remains to be seen how Lahore fares in the upcoming season of Pakistan’s darling T20 competition.
