Former explosive middle-order batsman Kevin Pietersen has expressed his shock at the omission of Ahmed Shehzad from Pakistan’s T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series against Bangladesh. Pakistan recently announced their 15-member lineup for the matches which did not include the opening batter in the mix.
Shehzad has been one of the top performers in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which was alluded to by Pietersen in his tweet. In his anger, the South Africa-born cricketer even termed the logic of Pakistan’s selection committee as completely ‘stupid’.
While Shehzad has been a force to reckon with in the four seasons of the PSL and domestic cricket, he flopped during his most recent recall to the national side. The 28-year-old had made a paltry sum of 17 runs across the two T20Is he was part of the playing XI during the home series against Sri Lanka.
