There was a huge debate about India’s number 3 and number 4 batting position ahead of the 2nd ODI game against Australia. Virat Kohli was also under the radar of criticism for demoting himself down the order during the 1st ODI of the series. Virat straightaway changed plans and came out to bat at number 3rd position during the 2nd ODI game and demoted KL Rahul at number 5th position.
It seems like Virat was aware of all the criticism that was launched at social media and news channels. Talking to the media after the match, Virat Said- “We live in that days of social media and a panic button was pressed too early (talking about his batting position). It is very important to figure out the best team you can put on the park and when you see how KL Rahul was batting today (2nd ODI game), it is very difficult to leave someone like that out”.
Virat Kohli scored 78 at Rajkot while KL Rahul smashed a quick-fire 80 off just 52 balls. It seemed like that the Indian batting line-up was back in its order as they dominated the visitors in a 36-run victory.
