The consistent failures of Fakhar Zaman combined with impressive outings of Ahsan Ali in the domestic circuit as well as Pakistan Super League (PSL) allowed the youngster to grab a place in the national team for the three-game T20I series against Bangladesh. With Mohammad Hafeez converting himself into a middle-order batsman in the last few years, it is highly likely to see Ahsan Ali opening alongside skipper Babar Azam.
Having scored 949 runs in 41 T20s at 23.72, it would be interesting to see how he fares for the green team. On getting picked to represent Pakistan, the 26-year old shared excitement as he vowed to deliver strong shows in Lahore. Moreover, Ahsan, in a recent interaction with media, revealed the former talismanic Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh as his role model in cricket. Highlighting the fearless approach of Yuvraj, Ahsan hoped to replicate him in the International cricket.
Furthermore, Ahsan said that Yuvraj being a left-handed batsman was hard to follow since the budding cricketer is a right-hander. To counter this muddle, Ahsan’s brother inverted clips of Yuvraj’s batting while using a computer software. This allowed Ahsan to see Yuvraj as a right-handed batsman and much easier to follow.
