Pakistan Under-19 team commenced their ICC Under-19 World Cup campaign against Scotland Under-19 team at Potchefstroom. Pakistan displayed a valiant performance against Scotland as the men in green vanquished over the Scottish by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Scotland was dismantled for just 75 runs courtesy some excellent seam bowling from Tahir Hussain, Abbas Afridi and Mohammad Wasim. Mohammad Wasim was the star of the show for Pakistan as he picked up a fifer. Uzair Shah was the highest scorer from Scotland’s side with 20 runs to his name.
In reply, Pakistan Under-19 team had a dodgy start as they lost their both openers in a quick succession. Rohail Nazir and Irfan Khan steadied the ship and contributed to Pakistan’s dominant win over Scotland. Pakistan will play their 2nd game against Zimbabwe at Potchefstroom on 22nd January.
