Mohammad Wasim, the Pakistani pace sensation, is one of the most skillful budding fast-bowlers of the cricketing world. He was only the last minute addition to the Under-19 World Cup squad of Pakistan as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) pulled Naseem Shah out of the team.
However, Wasim made the most of his chance to grab all the attention in Pakistan’s opening game of the junior World Cup against Scotland. Winning the toss, Scotland decided to bat first, only to get decimated by Pakistan’s sturdy bowling department. After early blows, Scotland was trying to get back in the game, but Mohammad Wasim’s prowess didn’t allow them to challenge the boys in green.
Encompassing a plethora of quality, Wasim delivered a stunning bowling show to claim 5 wickets giving away only 12 runs, thus getting Scotland bundled out for a paltry total of 75 runs. This allowed the green team to boss the game. In response, Pakistan chased the total using only 11.4 overs and recorded a stunning start to their campaign in the Under-19 World Cup getting played in South Africa.
