Virat Kohli’s mastery was on display as India demolished Australia in the 3rd and final ODI at Bengaluru. Batting first, Australia posted a total of 286 runs for India to chase down, in reply the hosts finished the game comprehensively courtesy class from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Kohli once again was the star in the run chase as he piled up 89 runs of just 91 balls. The Indian captain achieved another individual milestone while he was batting against Australia. The 31-year old became only the 5th cricketer in the history to score 100 50+ scores in ODIs.
He has scored 57 ODI half-centuries and 43 tons. Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Jacques Kallis are the other 4 names in the elite group. Virat, with 43 tons to his name, is just 6 centuries short of Sachin’s record of the highest number of ODI tons.
