BCCI launched a notification for recruitment slots on 18th January for the position of national selectors. There will be 2 seats each in the senior selection committee and junior selection committee up for the grab. However, the women selection committee will be revamped completely by the board.
MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda vacated the slots in the senior selection committee. The proposed Cricket Advisory Committee consisting of Gautam Gambhir, Madan Lal, and Sulakshana Naik, is expected to carry out the interviews of the candidates.
For the senior selection committee, the candidate should not be more than 60 years old and should have played enough cricket (7 Tests, 30 First-Class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 First-Class matches) to be eligible for the post. On the other hand, at least 30 First Class games are the requirement for the application of the junior selection committee. For the women selection committee, experience of 1 International game is sufficient for the candidates to apply.
