Nyeem Young was the star of the show as the West Indies outclassed England in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Batting first, Windies posted a total of 267 for the loss of 7 wickets. Kelvon Anderson was the top-scorer with 86 runs while Nyeem’s blitz helped the Windies to put up a good total. He scored 66 runs off just 41 balls including 5 boundaries and 4 sixes.
In reply, England only managed to make 184 for the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game by 71 runs (D/L) method. Young again proved his credentials with the ball in hand as he grabbed 5 wickets for just 45 runs.
Nyeem became only the 4th player in the history of the Under-19 cricket world cup to score 50 plus runs and take 5+ wickets in a single match. He was given the Man of the Match award for his incredible performance against England.
