Following weeks of a deadlock between the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket boards, the ‘Tigers’ finally agreed to a full-fledged tour of Pakistan amidst concerns regarding the security arrangements in the country.
Bangladesh T20 captain Mahmudullah has alluded to these initial apprehensions over the security situation in Pakistan by stating it was slightly challenging to convince his family for the forthcoming cricket assignment. The veteran all-rounder said now his relatives were free from anxiety about his safety and hoped the tour would take place without any issue.
''It was definitely tough [the decision to tour Pakistan] initially because there were security concerns from my family. I have discussed with my family and I am quite relieved that my family is at peace” - Mahmudullah said.
