India’s right-arm fast bowler is in doubt for the New Zealand tour after he suffered an injury woe during the Ranji Trophy match. Ishant Sharma has reportedly torn his ankle while appealing for an LBW decision during a domestic game.
The seam bowler had an MRI from the local hospital in Delhi and the doctors advised him 6 weeks rest for the rehabilitation. However, BCCI will wait own decision following his assessment at the National Cricket Academy Bangalore.
Ishant has been an integral weapon for India in the recent past as his records in the Test cricket have improved significantly. The 31-year old credits the change in action as his one of the reasons to excel in the longest format of the game. India might miss the services of the Delhi-born during the Test series against New Zealand starting from 21 February. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav might be the possible candidate who will play as the 3rd seamer for India.
