South Africa’s seam bowler Kagiso Rabada breaks silence about his ban which he received during the 3rd Test match at Port Elizabeth. The right-arm fast bowler was lent with a 4th demerit point courtesy a controversial celebration after taking the wicket of England’s captain Joe Root.
Kagiso Rabada will not be eligible to play in the 4th Test match at the Wanderers and South African management has called Beuran Hendricks and Andile Phehlukwayo into the side to fill the void left by Rabada. Although the fast bowler did not apologize openly for his actions, he admitted that his behavior should improve.
"It's something that I didn't expect" - he said. "Whether it was the right thing to ban me, or the wrong thing, the reality is that I am banned. Obviously, it hurts, but it gives me a chance to work on my game and to have a bit of a rest. It can't keep happening, because I'm letting the team down and I'm letting myself down. It just can't keep happening and that's why it hurts so much."- he said.
On the other hand, England’s Test captain Joe Root has decided to keep quiet on this issue as he does not want to create any more trouble. Starting from 24th January, the 4th Test match between England and South Africa will be played at the Wanderers.
